Family Counseling
There are specific situations that call for family counseling–
- blending families, focusing on the step-parent-child relationship and helping the couple work as a parenting team
- challenging child or teenager, to strengthen the parenting team and to improve the communication between the parents and the child/teen
- when one family member needs the help of their family for understanding and support, for example when a person is first diagnosed with schizophrenia or an eating disorder, or when a person is starting recovery from an addiction
- adult siblings and elder parents meeting to talk about the care arrangements for the parent(s)
