Family Counseling

There are specific situations that call for family counseling–

  • blending families, focusing on the step-parent-child relationship and helping the couple work as a parenting team
  • challenging child or teenager, to strengthen the parenting team and to improve the communication between the parents and the child/teen
  • when one family member needs the help of their family for understanding and support, for example when a person is first diagnosed with schizophrenia or an eating disorder, or when a person is starting recovery from an addiction
  • adult siblings and elder parents meeting to talk about the care arrangements for the parent(s)
